"Who Cares...We Care"

What We Do

At Who Cares House we offer a range of services aimed at helping the community in various ways. We have contacts with other organisations, like AA, PACT, RISE, Homebuilders, Womans Refuge and various other support services and can help you make contact with services specific to your needs. In addition to acting as a connection hub, we also offer some of our own services and local support so that you don’t have to travel out of town to get help, just down the road.

  • Community House
Our community house offers people a place to connect with the community. The House is open weekday mornings for everyone and offers a warm and welcoming place to pop in for a cuppa, a chat or just so you can catch up with what is happening around town.

  • Driving Service
Who Cares House offers a driving service for those who are unable to drive themselves, to get them to medical or professional appointments in Greymouth, Westport, Hokitika, Nelson and Christchurch. There is no charge but koha (donations) enable to us to provide this service.

  • Monthly Greymouth Shoppers Trip
Need to get some shopping done in Greymouth? This bus is just the ticket. First Wednesday of every month, seats are limited so call to reserve yours, $15 cost.

  • Cuppa and Cake/Soup and Something Sweet
When: Every Friday from 10am until 12pm. Come in for morning tea and a chat, with delicious homemade baking.
Cuppa and Cake is a relaxed way to make new connections, catch up on what is happening in the community or just sit and chat. Everyone is welcome so pop in. There is no charge for attending but koha are always appreciated.
