We acknowledge that there has been considerable concern over the last few months about the future of Who Cares House. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Gateway Trust and Grey Valley Lions, we are happy to announce that we have now secured enough funding to remain open for the remainder of the year.
We also would like to acknowledge the local families that have contributed to our funding and Trish Saunders who continued to donate the sale of her artwork to Who Cares House.
Unfortunately, we have had to pause the Community Connector role, as sadly the funding for this very successful role was a one-off contribution. We are therefore trying to source other funding.
The funding landscape has changed dramatically, and it has become clear we can no longer rely solely on our traditional sources. So going forward we are working on finding new opportunities, making new connections and funding raising continually throughout the year.
Thanks also to Scout Atkins, reporter for the Greystar, we appreciate the efforts she has gone toto share our story, her coverage has made a difference.
We would also like to thank the individuals who have support us and been part of Who Cares House. It has been very humbling to hear your stories about what this place means to you and how it has helped the community. Our who purpose for existing is to help our community so hearing your stories has really been inspirational and given us renewed determination to keep Who Cares House open.
We look forward to seeing you all later in the year to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
